I’ve lost access to my security info
When I switch from company’s Teams to client’s, I am asked to log in. The log in prompt shows a code and to authenticate it in Microsoft Authenticator. There is no prompt/ notification in my Microsoft Authenticator to put the number.
Troubleshooting common problems with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
The error could be caused by malicious activity, misconfigured MFA settings, or other factors. To investigate further, ask an IT administrator to look at the Microsoft Entra sign-in logs. I’d start by checking if those users are somehow excluded from security defaults or if there’s a conditional access clear Outlook credentials manager policy overriding them. Also, make sure they’re using apps that support 2FA—older clients sometimes skip the prompt.
Log off, log back in again and does not prompt for MFA anymore. Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
